Pinjarra Men’s Veteran Singles Championship 2022-2023

The Pinjarra Men’s Veterans event had 10 players enter and was split up into two sections. In Section 1 the main talking point was the inspiring and gutsy performance of 95 year old Dennis Lucas, who went through the sectional round undefeated including the scalps of several 1st division bowlers. Section 2 was considered the tougher section and after Tom Ellison defeated Stewart Grayson in a replay of last years grand final, it was set-up for a Semi-Final like scenario against Ken Barker, who proved too strong and continues on his reputation as a very difficult singles opponent to beat.

The Final saw the crowd get behind the underdog Dennis Lucas but Ken Barker took control from the outset and ran away as victor to be crowned the 2022-2023 Men’s Veterans Singles Champion. Full credit must go to the ageless Lucas who provided the highlight story of this years event.
