2024 AFGRI Men’s Country Week
Held on 1st-8th March 2024, the Pinjarra Bowling Club enjoyed a fantastic 2024 Men’s Country Week, taking both the Pairs and Fours titles of the 8-day annual carnival and claiming the Bignell Shield, as the best performing club of the Championship tournament.
All finals were played in challenging windy and wet conditions at Osborne Park Bowling Club but there was some great bowls played over the day by all competitors.
PAIRS FINAL: It was an all Pinjarra final, with Peter Cole and Tom Ellison defeating club mates Leon Birch and John McCooke to win the pairs title 18-4.
FOURS FINAL: The Fours victory was secured by Brad Ball, Peter Retallack, Leon Birch and John McCooke, defeating Quairading 19-15, in a nail bitingly close match. The win is the second consecutive Country Week title for Brad Ball who won the 2023 Pairs with team mate David Milbourne.
