Blue Tree Opening Day
We could not of dreamed about a better day for our ‘Blue Tree Opening Day’ event. The fantastic turnout, wonderful atmosphere, amazing weather and generous support from everyone who came along.
To open the day, we gathered at the new Blue Tree site, where guest speaker, Fiona Bailey shared a very personal story on her family’s tragic loss of their young son, touching the hearts of us all and highlighting the importance of talking about mental health with our loved ones. #itsoknottobeok
The saying ‘blue and green should never be seen’, did not apply, with 90 players dressed in blue, enjoying friendly bowling across the three greens and such a brilliant sight.
The day was jam packed full of fun and entertainment, with plenty of raffles, a fundraising art auction, live music, delicious homemade soups, prizes and plenty of laughter and we raised an amazing $1,500 to donate to the Blue Tree Project.
Congratulations to the Winning team on the day – Dean Higgon, Klaus Suba & Dudley Gaunt and Runners Up – Ken Barker, Steve Crouch & Dennis Lucas.
An event like this takes planning and people, so thank you to every one of you who volunteered and helped in some way, please know we could not do any of this without you.
